Fact-Checking and Corrections Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

What we check

Before a page is published or materially updated, we check against its sources:

  • Specifications (processor, memory type and maximum, storage slots, ports, networking) against the manufacturer’s spec page or manual.
  • Prices and availability against the seller, with the check date recorded. See Price and data policy.
  • Software and version claims (for example, support for Proxmox, Home Assistant, Plex or Ollama) against the project’s official documentation, with the version and date where relevant.
  • Names and model numbers, including exact revision, since a name can cover several variants.
  • Evidence labels — a page is labeled “Hands-on tested” only if we did the testing.

What counts as an error

A wrong or outdated specification, price, model name, compatibility statement, or source attribution; a broken or misleading link; a claim of testing or expertise the page can’t support.

How we correct

  • Minor fixes (typos, formatting, a broken link) are corrected without a note.
  • Factual corrections (a wrong spec, an outdated statement, a changed conclusion) are corrected and noted on the page with the date and what changed, for example: “Correction (date of correction): we previously listed the maximum memory as X; the manufacturer’s specification says Y.”
  • Price changes are updated with a new “checked on” date; they are not corrections.
  • If a correction changes a recommendation, we update the recommendation and say why.
  • We don’t quietly delete a claim that was wrong without saying so, if readers may have acted on it.

Older articles

Some older articles on this site were published before these standards and are being revised. Where an older article makes a claim that the current standards would not allow — for example, a statement of testing we can’t support — we correct or remove the claim, and note it.

How to report an error

Email us at info@soayanminipc.com. Please include the page address, what is wrong, and a source if you have one. Manufacturers and sellers are welcome to send official documentation.

What we won’t do

We don’t change a page’s content in exchange for payment, and we don’t remove accurate content because someone dislikes it.
